Have items to donate? We gladly accept new or gently used items in good condition, including books, CDs, DVDs, jigsaw puzzles, and board games.

All items we sell are generously donated by the library and community members, and every aspect of our operation is powered by volunteers. The Friends play an active role in:

• Processing incoming donations

• Selling donated items online

• Operating the Friends Bookstore

• Sorting and boxing donations 

• Staffing auditorium book sales

• Serving on the board of directors

We Love Our Library!

Funds raised through Friends of the Library activities help support and enhance the programs, services, and community resources offered by the Rochester Public Library. These may include:

• Expanding the library’s collection

• The all ages Summer Playlist program

• The Open Books Reading Challenge

• Creativite supplies and refreshments for library events 

• Reader’s Services, including Library at Home program and Book Group in a Bag kits

• Rochester Reading Champions

• The Seed Library

• Access to various online databases

• Volunteer management software

• Additional special projects as needed
